Class description

START of CLASSES: 2nd of Mars Salsa Level 2 Salsa dancing — as a dance to accompany salsa music — was popularized in the 1960s. It was primarily developed by Puerto Ricans and Cubans living in New York in the late 1960s and early 1970s.Different regions of Latin America and the United States (including countries in the Caribbean) have distinct salsa styles, such as Cuban, Puerto Rican, Colombian, and New York styles. Salsa dance socials are commonly held in nightclubs, bars, ballrooms, restaurants, and outside, especially when part of an outdoor festival. In Caliente Dance School we offer Cuban Salsa courses which is a style with street and afro-caribbean influences Once you’ve mastered the beginner Salsa steps, it’s time to move on up and explore our intermediate salsa steps and the various patterns that complement them. The idea here is to build off the fundamental techniques you already have and master them as you expand your arsenal of moves. By practicing these individual Salsa steps, you’ll become a more versatile social dancer. Not only will your vocabulary improve, but we’ll also show you how to make your dancing elegant and your partner connection smooth and clean. This is where Salsa really starts to get exciting. How far you go, is all up to you. The sky is the limit.
